Budget crisis Illinois families face disaster

The General Assembly failed to pass a budget that protects the critical state programs working families depend on. Social service agencies and tens of thousands of Illinois residents have already suffered deep cuts–and more are on the way. There’s no question that things are going to get worse unless lawmakers pass the new revenue plan needed to get the state back on track.

I currently work in Chicago as a CNA and care(d) for not only seniors but now a disabled veteran, these changes will be detrimental to lower income families such as students with children and or the children themselves. I am also a pregnant student looking forward to a degree in Nursing, and at this time I don’t have insurance and my income is not enough to support a mortagage/ medical care. I know many friends/ families that will suffer due to this type of change, why don’t we worry less about the Olympic’s and set some higher standards of care for the citizens of Illinois.
